(If you would like to see an extensive look at last week's products, go to "Makeup Bag of the Week: 10/9" i.e. to figure out the exact shades I used)
Foundation: The foundation I used went on very smooth and had sheer coverage but was very buildable. I found after using it for a while that I prefer applying it with a flat foundation brush and then buffing it into the skin with my Sigma F82, for an airbrushed finish.
Powder: The Almay powder set my foundation well, with very little oil throughout the day. However, it did tend to seem a bit cakey around my nose and on my chin, where I had a bit of a dry patch. Also, if you apply too much, it can look a bit cakey, as well. To combat this cakey-ness, I liked using a Kabuki brush. If you are wanting to apply more product, in a more concentrated manner, I would use the Sigma F82 to buff this powder in, instead of the kabuki.
Bronzer: The Mary Kay bronzer I used this week was quite sheer and came off very matte. I loved the matte quality to the bronzer. I felt it looked good on the skin. I applied it with a fluffy blush brush.
Blush: I used two blushes this week. For a darker look, I used a Wet 'N Wild blush. It was very very pigmented and had a nice texture. Due to it's large amount of pigmentation, I found that I liked to apply it with a stippling brush. That way you apply just the right amount of product.
Highlighter: My Hard Candy highlighter is truly a great one. I urge you all to go purchase it if you are in need of a highlighter in your collection. It has a wonderful peachy/silvery sheen. Make sure to use a light hand with this product though, as you can easily apply too much and then you will loo greasy. I like applying it with my Sonia Kashuk pointed foundation brush.
Eye Primer: The Hard Candy primer is great for keeping your eye look in place all day and keeping the colors vibrant, without creasing. Just put a tiny dab on your eye and blend it in with your finger!
Eyeshadow: Maybelline - I really like the color variety in this palette and the color payoff. The shadows also feel very nice to the touch, even the matte shade!
Covergirl- I loved this shadow! It has a great payoff with minimal fallout. Wonderful for an everyday look.
Mark Kay- All three of the Mary Kay shadows that I used this week had the same qualities. They were high quality products and velvety to the touch. The only "less than great" thing that I have to say is that they only have decent pigmentation. I feel they are buildable, though.
Eyeliner: Mally- I love my Mally eyeliner. It is very black, glides smoothly without any tugging, and stays longer than most in my water line! I love it so much.
Revlon ColorStay- This is the only product from the whole makeup bag that I can really say I dislike. It is not a good product at all, unfortunately. I feel that it tugs on the skin and doesn't show up in my waterline. I truly don't care for it.
Mascara: Lancome- I love itttt! This really gives my lashes great length. Once I use up this sample, which will be soon, I plan to purchase the full size version. Absolutely superb product.
Lipstick: The Neutrogena lipstick was very moisturizing and had a wonderful color. It was opaque and lasted all day. The e.l.f lipstick was also very nice but I felt that it was a bit drying on the lips. It's a great berry shade, though. Wonderful for fall/winter!
Lipgloss: The lipgloss that I used this week is a long time favorite nude-color lipgloss. It is very moisturizing and has a great shine. It does occasionally need touched up though.
I too like the Lancome mascara.
