Review:
  • Primer- I really liked the Avon Magix primer. It made my face really smooth and helped with the blending of my face products. I could also tell a significant increase in the wear of my foundation.
  • Foundation- Whoa, buddy! This foundation has one strong scent! I should have known because it is a Covergirl product, but danggg. I really like the finish of the product though. If you can get over the scent, I say go for it.
  • Concealer- The Glamoflauge concealer I used was very pigmented and covered my blemishes well but I found it to be too thick for under my eyes. I don't like the way it settles into the fine lines. Also, this product only comes in three shades so be careful! The one I own is actually a tad too light for me.
  • Powder- this week I continued to use my Almay powder, as I will next week, and the week after, and the week after. (Well, until it is used up!)
  • Cream Blush- I love the NYC Blushable Creme Sticks. They glide on and blend like a dream. You can have them be very opaque, or they will blend to almost nothing. Great product!
  • Bronzer- My Rimmel bronzer is not one that I reach for, to be honest. It goes on pigmented but is then hard to blend and if you tap a bit of the product off on the back of your hand in order to not apply to much, then the bronzer is indetectable. It is matte though, and I do use it for a slight bit of color. Like I said, I don't reach for it, though.
  • Eye Primer- Hard Candy, I don't have another one here with me to try
  • Eyeshadow- This week I used a Hard Candy shadow palette. All of the colors had a very nice consistency and were all very pigmented. I liked the palette I have, the one in "Vice" because it is neutral enough to wear everyday but also has the capabilites of a nice smoky eye.
  • Pencil Liner- The Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner is not a bad product, but I prefer my Mally Evercolor liner over it. I feel the HC liner tugs a bit and doesn't apply smoothly, but it is very pigmented.
  • Gel Liner- I used the Physician's Formula gel liner for brown eyes. I intended to use all of them, but I really only got the chance to use the black. I really love this product though. It glides on the skin very well, has wonderful pigmentation, and is quite affordable.
  • Lipsticks - MAC Lazy Day- I love this lipstick. Beautiful pink, very moisturizing
MAC Bare- Also a good product. Less moisturizing than the one above but I like it.
  • Lipglosses - Bari- This lip gloss is a frosty clear gloss, which goes great over any lipstick. It adds a bit of sheen and gloss over anything you pair it with. I really enjoy this lipgloss and continue to repurchase it.
Avon- I would say this product is more like a creme lipstick. It is very opaque and is also very moisturizing. I find that it looks nicely all by itself or with a lighter gloss over top, like the one mentioned above.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy! Don't forget to comment and let me know what you think!

Face of the Day: 10/18

Products Used:
Avon Magix
Covergirl Clean Makeup
Hard Candy Glamoflauge
Almay Truly Lasting Color Pressed Powder
Rimmel Natural Bronzer
NYC Blushable Creme Stick, Mary Kay Blush applied over top
Hard Candy Eye Shadow Primer
Hard Candy Eye Shadow Palette in Vice
Physician's Formula Gel Eyeliner
Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner
WnW MegaVolume Mascara
MAC Bare Slimshine
MAC lipstick in Lazy Day

Application Process I used:
1. Apply a pea sized amount of primer all over face and massage in with fingers
2. Use a quarter sized amount of foundation and stipple and swirl on with your favorite dense foundation brush
3. Apply a minute amount of concealer under the eye and on any blemishes (this concealer is very pigmented so a little goes a long way)
4. Buff in powder, focusing mainly on the T-Zone (I like using a Kabuki)
5. Apply bronzer to the temples and in the hollows of the cheeks, dust the remaining product on the nose
6. Apply the creme blush and work into the skin with your fingers
7. Lightly dust the powder blush over the creme blush to set, increase longevity, and add color
8. Dab eye primer all over eye, up to the brow, and even on the lower lash line. Rub in well using light pressure
9. Apply the silver shade in the palette all over the lid and up into the crease using a flat shader brush
10. Using a fluffy crease brush, apply the purple shade into the crease and blend well
11. Use the skintone shade under the brow as a highlight and to also help blend the purple out
12. Using a thin brush, apply the gel eyeliner as close to the lash line as possible
13. Apply the pencil liner onto the upper and lower water lines
14. Apply two coats of mascara
15. Apply the lipstick in Lazy Day all over the lips and blot
16. Add the Bare lipstick onto the outer edges of the lips to add dimension

I hope you like the look and that you will try it for yourself.
Remember, you don't have to use these exact products in order to achieve the look!

For those of you who would like a reference for the colors in the above mentioned palette:

Makeup Bag Review

(If you would like to see an extensive look at last week's products, go to "Makeup Bag of the Week: 10/9" i.e. to figure out the exact shades I used)

Foundation: The foundation I used went on very smooth and had sheer coverage but was very buildable. I found after using it for a while that I prefer applying it with a flat foundation brush and then buffing it into the skin with my Sigma F82, for an airbrushed finish.

Powder: The Almay powder set my foundation well, with very little oil throughout the day. However, it did tend to seem a bit cakey around my nose and on my chin, where I had a bit of a dry patch. Also, if you apply too much, it can look a bit cakey, as well. To combat this cakey-ness, I liked using a Kabuki brush. If you are wanting to apply more product, in a more concentrated manner, I would use the Sigma F82 to buff this powder in, instead of the kabuki.

Bronzer: The Mary Kay bronzer I used this week was quite sheer and came off very matte. I loved the matte quality to the bronzer. I felt it looked good on the skin. I applied it with a fluffy blush brush.

Blush: I used two blushes this week. For a darker look, I used a Wet 'N Wild blush. It was very very pigmented and had a nice texture. Due to it's large amount of pigmentation, I found that I liked to apply it with a stippling brush. That way you apply just the right amount of product.

Highlighter: My Hard Candy highlighter is truly a great one. I urge you all to go purchase it if you are in need of a highlighter in your collection. It has a wonderful peachy/silvery sheen. Make sure to use a light hand with this product though, as you can easily apply too much and then you will loo greasy. I like applying it with my Sonia Kashuk pointed foundation brush.

Eye Primer: The Hard Candy primer is great for keeping your eye look in place all day and keeping the colors vibrant, without creasing. Just put a tiny dab on your eye and blend it in with your finger!

Eyeshadow: Maybelline - I really like the color variety in this palette and the color payoff. The shadows also feel very nice to the touch, even the matte shade!
Covergirl- I loved this shadow! It has a great payoff with minimal fallout. Wonderful for an everyday look.
Mark Kay- All three of the Mary Kay shadows that I used this week had the same qualities. They were high quality products and velvety to the touch. The only "less than great" thing that I have to say is that they only have decent pigmentation. I feel they are buildable, though.

Eyeliner: Mally- I love my Mally eyeliner. It is very black, glides smoothly without any tugging, and stays longer than most in my water line! I love it so much.
Revlon ColorStay- This is the only product from the whole makeup bag that I can really say I dislike. It is not a good product at all, unfortunately. I feel that it tugs on the skin and doesn't show up in my waterline. I truly don't care for it.

Mascara: Lancome- I love itttt! This really gives my lashes great length. Once I use up this sample, which will be soon, I plan to purchase the full size version. Absolutely superb product.

Lipstick: The Neutrogena lipstick was very moisturizing and had a wonderful color. It was opaque and lasted all day. The e.l.f lipstick was also very nice but I felt that it was a bit drying on the lips. It's a great berry shade, though. Wonderful for fall/winter!

Lipgloss: The lipgloss that I used this week is a long time favorite nude-color lipgloss. It is very moisturizing and has a great shine. It does occasionally need touched up though.
